Our Programs & Initiatives:
First Year Experience
New to JCI? Welcome aboard! The First Year Experience is an onboarding email campaign that new members can sign up for upon joining the JCI USA community. It includes information about our current programming, helpful resources, and upcoming opportunities to get involved. The JCI USA Annual Meeting also includes special sessions for first-time attendees where you can connect with long-time members, including Ambassadors and Alumni.
MILE Academy
Mentorship. Instruction. Leadership. Engagement. The future of JCI USA is built one leader at a time, and it starts right here! The MILE Academy is a mentorship program in which JCI USA Ambassadors and Alumni are empowered to guide, coach, and elevate the next generation of changemakers. MILE offers personalized mentor-mentee matching to support meaningful experiences that grow the skills of mentors and mentees alike. Whether you’re here to learn or support others, there’s a place for you in MILE! Take the first step. Leave your mark. Be the reason someone finds their why.
Passport to Civic Leadership
Up for a challenge? Passport to Civic Leadership provides individual members with the tools and skills they need to be an active, well-rounded Jaycee. This program develops and retains members by challenging them to complete specific objectives that enhance their individual and leadership skills. Tasks include participating in chapter meetings, attending your local city council or chamber of commerce meeting, leading a training, and more. Members who complete the challenge are honored at JCI USA’s Annual Meeting as 10th Degree Jaycees! Find the full list and submission form on this page.
Civic Leadership Certification
Civic Leadership Certification (CLC) is a structured training program that provides local chapters with the resources they need to drive successful engagement for their organization. With quarterly challenges designed to build your leadership skills and keep your chapter in compliance, CLC takes the guesswork out of what you should be doing next. Lead with confidence, grow your chapter’s impact, and have fun while doing it! A one-pager is available here, and the 2026 form is open for submissions now.
Training & Workshops
Members have the opportunity to participate in additional training & workshops throughout the year, hosted at the local, state, and national levels. Topics vary depending on the needs of our members, so be sure to stay connected and keep an eye on our training calendar to sign up.
