JCI USA’s awards and competitions are aligned with our international counterparts and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. By participating, you can sharpen your communication skills and have the opportunity to stand out and be acknowledged for your achievements.

JCI USA Awards

JCI USA Awards celebrate the impact of our members’ work at the local, state, and national levels. Individuals and chapters are recognized for outstanding projects and innovations across our four areas of opportunity. Some JCI USA awards are also eligible for advancement to the global stage, with opportunities for recognition at international events like JCI Conference of America (COA) and JCI World Congress. Keep an eye on our Awards Portal for the latest on guidelines and nominations!

The Ten Outstanding Young Americans (TOYA) program has honored exceptional leaders between the ages of 18 and 40 since 1963. Administered by JCI USA, the award recognizes Americans who exemplify excellence across diverse fields – from science and entrepreneurship to military service, philanthropy, and the arts.

Each year, nominees are evaluated on achievements in at least three of ten categories, with finalists selected by a panel of judges. The final ten honorees receive the “JAYSON” trophy – Jaycees: Active Youth Serving Our Nation – and join a legacy of changemakers whose work uplifts communities nationwide. Honorees for TOYA also have the opportunity to be recognized on the global stage, by advancing to JCI’s Ten Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) program.

Impact the world through entrepreneurship! Unleash your entrepreneurial spirit by participating in the Creative Young Entrepreneur (CYE) program, where you can showcase your business and take it to the next level. This competition challenges you to think critically and creatively, requiring an in-depth business model, marketing strategy, and a clear plan for profitability and sustainability.

Are you looking for ways to challenge yourself and build effective communication skills? JCI USA’s Skills Development program exists as a platform for young leaders to showcase their talents in a low-stakes, supportive environment. Whether you enjoy writing, speaking, or debating, there’s something for everyone! Some competitions at the local, state, & national levels are also eligible to advance and compete internationally alongside JCI chapters from around the world. This one-pager lists JCI USA’s current Skills Development Competitions offerings.

The JCI Senate was established in 1952 to recognize the outstanding achievements and service of JCI members worldwide. JCI Senators display determination and leadership and are encouraged to stay connected and provide support throughout the entirety of their lives. The JCI Senatorship is the highest individual recognition bestowed by Junior Chamber International. It honors exceptional members—past or present—who have demonstrated outstanding dedication, leadership, and service to the organization.

The JCI USA Ambassadorship program is a recognition program for members who have made significant contributions to the organization. An Ambassadorship is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a member by JCI USA. Ambassadors are encouraged to stay involved in the organization through programs like the MILE Academy, in which they become mentors for the next generation of Jaycees.
