Simple Ways to Use Glue Up for Membership

JCI Members! How can our chapter use GlueUp to its fullest potential, you may ask? You don’t have to use every feature to see results. Focusing on a few core areas can make a big difference.

1. Keep Your Contact List Up to Date

Your contacts are more than just current members, they include anyone who has shown interest in your chapter.

This might include:

  • Event attendees
  • Guests
  • Prospective members
  • Past members

Keeping these contacts in Glue Up helps you stay organized and makes future outreach much easier.

2. Use Events as a Starting Point

Events are one of the best ways to connect with new people.

Using Glue Up for event registration allows you to:

  • Capture contact information automatically
  • See who is engaging with your chapter
  • Follow up more easily after the event

A simple follow-up message after an event can go a long way in turning interest into involvement.

3. Stay Connected Through Email

Regular communication helps people feel connected and informed.

Glue Up’s email tools make it easy to:

  • Share upcoming events
  • Highlight chapter updates
  • Welcome new members

If possible, try to tailor messages to different groups (like prospects vs. current members). Even small adjustments can make your communication feel more relevant!

4. Keep an Eye on Membership Renewals

Tracking renewals doesn’t have to be complicated.

Glue Up can help you:

  • See who is coming up for renewal
  • Send reminders
  • Stay ahead of lapses

A quick reminder at the right time can make a big difference in retention.

A Simple, Repeatable Approach

If you’re looking for an easy place to start, here’s a simple flow many chapters find helpful:

  1. Host an event using Glue Up registration
  2. Add attendees to your contact list
  3. Send a short follow-up message
  4. Invite interested individuals to learn more or join
  5. Keep them included in future communications

This doesn’t require a lot of extra effort, but it creates consistency, which is key.

A Few Small Things That Make a Big Difference

  • Keeping everything in one place (instead of multiple systems)
  • Adding contacts as you go, rather than later
  • Following up after events, even with a quick message
  • Communicating regularly, even when there’s no major update

These small habits tend to add up over time.
