Changemaker Summit

what's summit and
why should i go?

The Changemaker Summit is a half-day development and networking event for people 18-40 in the nonprofit, business and corporate, government, and international sectors.

The Young Changemaker Summit combines networking/relationship building and diversity and inclusion frameworks to give better tools for solving our hardest problems.

who should go?

If you're between the ages of 18 an 40 and are interested in driving positive change, then you belong at summit!

Driving positive change can mean a variety of things, such as solving community issues, creating a socially-minded business, or creating more collaboration across businesses. Regardless of what it means to you, the ideas and strategies covered during Summit are applicable.

when is it and how much does it cost?

The Changemaker Summit will be held on Thursday, March 16th from 12:30 to 4:30 PM and you can find the costs and registration links below:

Regular Registration: $50

JCI USA Member: $35

College Student: $25

Summit Sessions
All sessions will be held in the Alabama Room at the host hotel.

Lunch & Networking

We'll kick off with some great conversation over a meal. Network and discuss what challenges you face as someone who wants to drive change.

1:15 PM

Burnout & Mental Health

Whether you're in a leadership position or not, burnout is a common obstacle that many young leaders deal with as they try to balance work, having a life, relationships, and everything else. Explore mental health practices and strategies for setting healthy boundaries in this session that will help you avoid the burnout trap.

2:15 PM

Advocating for Ourselves and Others

You want to make an impact and drive positive change, but you’re not in a position of authority, so how do you advocate for yourself and others? This session will look at one of the biggest circular challenges for young changemakers.
 

3:15 PM

Building Young Changemaker Coalitions

How can organizations and individuals from a diverse backgrounds (sector, industry, generational, ethnic, etc.) come together to address and solve issues? In this interactive session, you'll team up with people from different organizations and backgrounds to come up with a community problem.

This session will give you a jumpstart by providing insight and a framework for identifying community needs in collaboration with your local government.

Passing the Torch to the Next Generation: Mentoring & Advising

Sustaining your project, chapter, or other initiative can be tricky, especially when engaging a new generation of leaders. How can leaders pass the torch so they can avoid burnout and ensure the sustainability of their initiatives? Navigating different generations, backgrounds, and demographics of members, partners, or other organizations can be a challenge that leaves us wondering where to even start. One of the first steps we can take is becoming a Mindful Leader. We'll learn about this process and tangible steps we can take in this session.

Driving Positive Change by Solving Millennial/Gen Z Challenges

What problem does your organization solve for young change makers? Figuring out how to identify issues and then come up with a plan to solve them can be difficult. In this interactive session, we'll learn about the challenges that Gen Z is facing and then develop potential solutions. You'll team up with a group of young changemakers from across the United States to tackle one of the issues we learn about. 

How International Experiences Grow You
